The DT curriculum in year 5 builds on the skills the children have learnt in previous year groups. We start off the year designing and evaluating a prototype. Once they have evaluated the pros and cons of the prototype, the children move on to making their toy. We learn how to use hand tools safely to cut and drill holes.
