Volunteering

Thinking of becoming a volunteer? We would love to welcome you!

We have many parents and people from our local community who come into school and help in the classrooms. They make a huge difference and staff really appreciate their support.

Help can take many forms; hearing children read, helping small groups of children with art and craft activities, talking to the children about special experiences (visits to other countries, hobbies, special skills), walking with the children to special events and helping on trips, etc. Perhaps you have a talent that you would like to share that you think would benefit the children’s learning and enjoyment. We would be delighted to hear all about it and welcome you into the life of our school!

Any volunteer needs to be DBS checked (Disclosure and Barring Service) and the school can arrange this. Mrs Hemmings or Mrs Davison from our HR department will help you with this process. You will need to bring your:

a) Passport or your birth certificate

b) Your driving Licence (photocard and counterpart)

c) A utility bill or council tax bill (dated within the last months) for proof of address.

As soon as your DBS has cleared we will contact you and arrange for you to help in school. It is important that you feel welcome and valued and we will place you initially with a member of staff (a teacher or one of our Teaching Assistant staff). This person will help you settle into school.

We look forward to hearing from you.
